The Regional Industry Customized Support Project is a program where local governments collaborate with local employment-related non-profit organizations and groups to discover and propose job projects suitable for regional characteristics, which are then comprehensively reviewed, selected, and supported by the Ministry of Employment and Labor.
With this selection, the city will promote two detailed projects: Gimhae YWCA’s ‘Career Interrupted Women Reemployment Project’ and Inje University Industry-Academic Cooperation Foundation’s ‘Training of Professionals Leading the Future Food Industry.’
The Women Reemployment Project provides employment preparation education to 80 career-interrupted and unemployed women, followed by job placement assistance. The Future Food Industry Professional Training project aims to train 20 field-oriented professionals in the food industry, linking employment and entrepreneurship.
The New Middle-aged Career-type Job Project supports projects utilizing the careers and expertise of new middle-aged individuals (aged 50 to under 65) applied for by local governments, with the Ministry of Employment and Labor reviewing and providing project funds.
Last year, 14 people were selected in seven detailed projects through the competition, and the city is promoting projects utilizing the expertise of new middle-aged professionals with experience in relevant fields, such as cancer patient medical expense support counselors.
This year, four additional detailed projects were selected, and the city plans to hire seven people to promote projects including platform worker job counselors, historical tourism marketing revitalization, specialized guides for disabled viewing facilities for open historical tourism, and astronomy commentary activation projects.
