Youth Clubs Supported with up to 2 Million Won

[Asia Economy Reporter Jong-il Park] Yeongdeungpo-gu (Mayor Chae Hyun-il) has launched youth activity support projects with distinctive names such as the ‘Jamong (夢) Project’ and ‘Yu·Ja·Cheong’ to foster the autonomy and creativity of local youth.
The name ‘Jamong (夢) Project,’ meaning ‘Dream Freely!,’ is a program that supports youth club activities.
Youth lead the entire process of planning, operating, and budgeting their clubs, and each club receives activity funds ranging from 1 million to 2 million KRW to realize their dreamed-up ideas.
Club themes can be freely chosen from culture, arts, social participation, or specialized clubs requiring special equipment and tools such as video, media, and woodworking.
Clubs composed of three or more youth aged 12 to 19 who are either enrolled in fifth grade or above in elementary school within the district or reside in the district are eligible to apply. The application period is until the 31st of this month.
The district plans to provide subsidy education to the finally selected clubs to help youth use the subsidies properly.
Additionally, university student mentors called the ‘Jamong (夢) Support Group’ will be selected to assist the ‘Jamong (夢) Project’ by being assigned to each club to support all activities, including budget management.
Youth wishing to participate can fill out the application form posted in the ‘Notices/Announcements’ section on the district office website and submit it via email (dldnjs927@ydp.go.kr) or visit the Future Education Division of the district office to apply.
‘Yu·Ja·Cheong’ is an abbreviation for ‘Unique and Free Youth Autonomous Union,’ and it is recruiting new members for its 6th term this year. Members will be assigned to one of three teams: Study Team, Talent Team, or Earth Team.
The Study Team will engage in ▲improving study methods through university student mentoring programs ▲youth seminars ▲exploration and discussion activities in areas of interest; the Talent Team will handle ▲YouTube channel management ▲planning and conducting youth festivals ▲project planning in areas of interest; and the Earth Team will participate in ▲online and offline promotion and action projects on environmental issues ▲environmental cleanup activities.
Any youth aged 14 or older residing in Yeongdeungpo-gu can participate. Recruitment is open until the 18th, and interested youth can apply via the QR code printed on the promotional poster.
Students participating in the ‘Jamong (夢) Project’ and ‘Yu·Ja·Cheong’ will have the opportunity to showcase their talents and passion on stage at festivals such as the ‘Youth Autonomous Festival’ and ‘Popo Festa’ held in the second half of this year.
