Fire at Daegu Bicycle Assembly Factory... Black Smoke Covers Chimsan-dong, 'Residents Evacuated'
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Park Dong-wook] At 1:03 PM on the 15th, a fire broke out at a two-story bicycle assembly factory in Chimsan-dong, Buk-gu, Daegu.
The fire burned approximately 540㎡ of the building and was completely extinguished after 1 hour and 20 minutes. The fire department deployed 38 fire trucks and about 100 firefighters. Workers present in the factory at the time of the fire evacuated urgently, and no casualties occurred.
In the early stages of the fire, the Chimsan-dong area was covered in thick black smoke, prompting the police and fire authorities to move nearby parked vehicles and issue evacuation orders to residents.
