On the 13th, a post titled "The Baemin (Baedal Minjok) owner who sold super ice cream as gelato told me to get lost" was uploaded to an online community.
The author revealed their review, stating, "I ordered a croffle and added vanilla gelato. But what arrived was a Super Ice Cream Excellent."
In the review, the author wrote, "How can the additional order of vanilla 'gelato' be super ice cream? It was even all melted. You should change the menu listing to vanilla ice cream (Excellent)."
According to the author, the cafe owner responded to the review by explaining, "Excellent pairs best with croffle, and other customers had no complaints." The author then revised the review, saying, "Wouldn't it be enough to just change the gelato label to ice cream?"
The cafe responded without an apology, saying, "This will soon be blinded. Don't write such reviews anywhere else. If you have something to say, come and say it." They added, "You applied for the review event and got a free Americano, yet you complain a lot. Get lost."
After this became known, critical comments flooded the cafe’s Instagram. The cafe replied to the criticism with threatening comments such as, "You crazy XX, I'll kill you. I know you live in Sangdong. Try it one more time."
The related post has since been deleted. A netizen claiming to be the original author explained, "The owner came to my home, tearfully apologized, so I accepted the apology and deleted the post."
Meanwhile, netizens continue to criticize the cafe owner, pointing out issues such as deceiving customers by selling ice cream as gelato, responding to legitimate complaints with insults and threats, and visiting the customer’s home.
