View original image[Sejong=Asia Economy Reporter Moon Chaeseok] The Korea Employment Agency for the Disabled announced on the 14th that it collaborated with Coupang to identify seven job roles last year, resulting in the hiring of over 200 new employees with disabilities.
The agency, together with Coupang, analyzed disability types and job roles including women, severely disabled, and older disabled individuals, and identified seven job roles such as delivery worker shuttle vehicle driving and unmanned vending machine management.
The developed job roles were named "E-commerce Shopping Partner." The agency recommended job seekers and provided customized training services, leading to the hiring of over 200 people with disabilities.
Coupang's employment rate of people with disabilities increased from 0.54% in 2019 to 1.84% last year. Coupang has formed a dedicated team for hiring people with disabilities to continue new recruitment and is developing new job roles for people with disabilities in cooperation with the agency.
