On the 13th, MBC's 'True Story Exploration Team' posted a video titled "Waiting for tips on the Gumi 3-year-old girl case" on their YouTube channel, along with photos of the child when she was alive.
Earlier, police DNA test results revealed that the deceased 3-year-old girl's biological mother was initially thought to be her maternal grandmother, Ms. Seok (48). The biological mother, Ms. Kim (22), is actually the girl's older sister.
The True Story Exploration Team requested, "If anyone knows about Ms. Seok, who was identified as the biological mother through DNA testing and the child born on March 30, 2018, at an obstetrics and gynecology clinic in Inui-dong, Gumi, please contact us."
On the morning of the 11th, at the Gimcheon branch of the Daegu District Court, the maternal grandmother, identified as the biological mother of a 3-year-old girl who was found dead in Gumi, Gyeongbuk, is entering the court to undergo a pre-arrest suspect interrogation (warrant hearing).

Netizens expressed their sorrow with comments such as "Whoever the mother is, they must be severely punished," "Reveal the perpetrator's face too," "Seeing the child alive makes my heart heavy and painful," and "If reborn, I hope the child grows up loved and happy in an ordinary family." The management team of the Korea Child Abuse Prevention Association, which conducted the "Sorry Jeong-in" challenge, also shared this video urging for the resolution of the case.
After a 3-year-old girl was found dead in a villa in Gumi on the 10th of last month, the police launched an investigation and arrested Ms. Kim on charges of murder and violation of the Child Welfare Act (child neglect).
The decomposed body of the child was discovered by the maternal grandmother living on the floor below in the same villa, who reported it to the police. Until then, the police believed that the biological mother, Ms. Kim, had been raising the deceased child alone but had neglected her for several months due to remarriage and other reasons, leading to the child's death.
However, DNA test results revealed that the deceased girl's biological mother was actually the maternal grandmother, Ms. Seok. Ms. Kim, the arrested daughter, reportedly did not accept the test results. The police suspect that Ms. Seok secretly swapped her own biological daughter with the child born to her daughter, Ms. Kim, around the same time, and on the 11th, they arrested Ms. Seok on charges of abducting a minor.

Meanwhile, since her arrest, Ms. Seok has consistently claimed, "I never gave birth to a daughter," and there are no hospital birth records, making the investigation difficult for the police. On the 13th, the police deployed profilers to assist with the investigation and are also trying to locate another child, the daughter of Ms. Kim, who appears to have been swapped immediately after birth.
