It has been confirmed that local residents had been suffering from noise and building cracks caused by ongoing demolition work for over a month.
On the 13th, SBS 8 News reported that a man in his 60s who protested the noise from a nearby construction site was indiscriminately beaten by a demolition company employee.
According to the report, Mr. A, a man in his 60s living near the construction site, visited the construction company to complain about the excessive noise from demolition work on a weekend morning.
In response, Mr. B, a demolition company employee in his 30s, grabbed Mr. A by the neck, pushed him down onto the concrete floor, then climbed on top of him and began assaulting him.
The footage clearly shows Mr. B striking Mr. A’s face more than ten times, and still appearing enraged as he threw more punches.
Despite Mr. A lying on the ground in pain, another employee present only watched and merely pretended to intervene as the assault was ending.
Eventually, Mr. A was left on the street for more than 20 minutes after the assault and was taken to the hospital following a report from a passerby.
Meanwhile, local residents reported suffering severe damage from the demolition work that had been ongoing for a month due to apartment construction. Despite continuous complaints about building cracks and noise, the demolition company has not responded to compensation claims from nearby residents.
