Haenam-gun Supports Housing Renovation for Disabled Residents in Farming and Fishing Villages
Up to 3.8 Million Won Per Household, Applications Accepted Until the 17th
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Hyun] Haenam-gun, Jeollanam-do announced on the 13th that it will carry out a rural disabled housing renovation project to provide convenience in daily life and alleviate mobility difficulties for disabled people living in rural farming and fishing villages.
The project targets registered disabled persons residing in the town and township areas within the jurisdiction, whose household income is below the previous year's average monthly income of urban workers. Up to 3.8 million KRW per household will be subsidized to support housing renovations tailored to the type of disability.
The scope of repairs is principally limited to installing facilities for the convenience of disabled persons, such as lowering door thresholds, renovating bathrooms, adjusting sink heights, and paving access routes.
To resolve inconveniences faced by disabled households in preparing documents and selecting contractors, responsible officials will assess each household's situation, visit them directly to select beneficiaries, and plan to entrust the project to self-support enterprises and social enterprises. Applications for beneficiaries will be accepted until the 17th.
