"Exposed to Ideological Screening in Interview at Major Game Company"
Scenario Writer Interview Question: "Will You Erase Feminist Drawings?"
[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Bong-ju] Following the controversy over gender discrimination in interviews at Dong-A Pharmaceutical, an allegation has emerged that a major domestic game company conducted ideological screening during an interview.
On the 11th, A, who claimed to be an aspiring game scenario writer on Tistory, stated that on the 9th of this month, during an interview at one of the '3N' companies (Nexon, NC, Netmarble), they were subjected to ideological screening.
A netizen revealed that they were asked ideological verification questions during an interview at a major game company. Photo by Tistory.

According to A, an interviewer from company N asked, "Would you remove the illustrations by an illustrator who became controversial for being a feminist from the game?"
In the gaming industry, it is often the case that when female voice actors or illustrators involved in game development express feminist views, gamers demand that these women and their works be excluded.
In response to the question, A said, "I think it was a good decision for a certain game company to take a stance protecting employees legally from being dismissed for such reasons," adding, "I would not remove them. I believe the power of company N's content can overwhelm the backlash."
Regarding this, A explained, "Removing illustrations is not simply deleting data but terminating the career of a person who contributed to game development, threatening their livelihood," and added, "They forced an inhumane choice to decide whether to dismiss employees from collaborating departments for the sake of the company organization, essentially holding others' livelihoods hostage."
Furthermore, A criticized, "It was no different from an experiment that wore down the humanity of the interviewee," and said, "I hope ideological screening and questions that insult other departments do not occur in game company interviews."
