The county is currently conducting a legislative notice until the 25th to amend the related ordinance, and plans to apply the revised fare from the second half of the year after the ordinance is promulgated following the council's extraordinary session.
With the reduction of Happy Taxi fares, it is expected that the use of Happy Taxi will be further activated by easing the burden on transportation-vulnerable residents.
Governor Kim San said, “This fare adjustment is expected to greatly help the local taxi industry, which has been struggling due to COVID-19,” and added, “We will continue to actively reflect the opinions of residents to improve inconveniences and do our best to ensure the stable operation of Happy Taxi.”

Meanwhile, last December, Muan-gun relaxed the criteria for selecting villages eligible for Happy Taxi from a distance of 800m or more from the bus stop to the village hall to 600m or more through an ordinance amendment. Additionally, the ordinance newly specified the selection criteria for natural villages that were previously blind spots in Happy Taxi usage, contributing to securing mobility rights for residents in transportation-deprived areas.
