Dobong-gu Recruiting Activists for 'Youth Network' Activities
Operating the 'Youth Network' to Diagnose Local Community Issues Through the Eyes of Youth and Enable Their Own Policy Discovery and Implementation
[Asia Economy Reporter Jong-il Park] Dobong-gu (Mayor Dong-jin Lee) is recruiting activists for the "Dobong-gu Youth Network" to diagnose local community issues from the perspective of youth and to discover policies by the youth themselves.
This Youth Network project was established to provide a space where young people can deliberate and consider their own local agendas, while supporting their free activities and strengthening local network bonds.
The recruitment period is from March 15 to April 5, with 70 positions available.
Youth aged between 19 and 39 who reside or are active in Dobong-gu can apply, and since it is on a first-come, first-served basis, early application is recommended.
Selected Youth Network activists will carry out activities until November, including ▲ operating the "Policy Sympathy School" ▲ youth policy network activities ▲ discovering and proposing policies by division ▲ operating the youth network policy support group ▲ deliberation and selection of proposed policies ▲ executing projects by division ▲ activity report meetings and completion ceremonies.
The district will provide a modest activity allowance based on participation, and a certificate of completion will be awarded if attendance is 50% or higher.
Meanwhile, in 2020, despite difficulties in network activities due to COVID-19, 77 youths across 4 divisions in the Dobong-gu Youth Network conducted activities remotely and successfully completed the program.
Additionally, as a result of proposing the 2021 autonomous district youth policy governance project, three projects were selected: ▲ activation of Dobong-gu youth participation organizations ▲ training of Dobong-gu youth social innovation activists ▲ Dobong-gu youth vitality community, securing a total of 231 million KRW in funding.
This year, with the prolonged COVID-19 situation, the district prepared programs according to division activities reflecting feedback from last year's performance report meeting.
The district plans to continuously improve network operations by combining online and offline methods during network activities, organizing divisions based on participants' needs, and making division activities more flexible.
Those wishing to participate in the Youth Network activities can apply online through the "Dobong-gu Youth Network," and detailed information is available on the Dobong-gu official website.
