Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries to Conduct 'Marine Engineer Regular Examination' on the 13th
[Sejong=Asia Economy Reporter Kwon Haeyoung] The Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries announced on the 11th that the first regular maritime officer examination of the year will be held on the 13th.
This exam must be taken to newly obtain a maritime officer license or to serve as a higher-ranking crew member on a vessel. This year's first regular maritime officer exam will be conducted simultaneously in 10 locations nationwide, including Busan, Incheon, Yeosu, and Masan, covering all license grades from Grade 1 to Grade 6, as well as small vessel operators. A total of about 3,300 candidates are expected to take the exam.
The Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries plans to strictly follow the Central Disaster and Safety Countermeasures Headquarters' guidelines for infection prevention management during the exam this year as well.

Meanwhile, starting with this regular maritime officer exam, the Ministry plans to conduct a total of four regular maritime officer exams with about 3,000 candidates in June, September, and November, as well as about 30 small-scale on-demand exams with around 200 candidates throughout the year.
