Hampyeong-gun Opens Basic Farming Skills Training for New Returning Farmers
Opening Ceremony Conducted Through Interactive Video Conference Communication
[Hampyeong=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Chunsu] Jeollanam-do Hampyeong-gun announced on the 11th that it held an opening ceremony for basic farming technology education to ensure the stable settlement of new farmers on the 10th.
The opening ceremony was held with about 70 trainees attending through an online real-time video conference using Zoom.
The county recruited trainees targeting new return-to-farm and return-to-village residents within five years of moving in, as well as young farmers.
The education course will be conducted over a total of 13 sessions and 70 hours, starting with the opening ceremony on that day, covering basic education, excellent case practice and field trips, and other content to build a foundation for overall farming until December.
In particular, through educational cooperation between the Return-to-Farm and Fishing Village Stay-type Support Center, which opened the day before, and the Agricultural Technology Center, a synergy effect is expected for stable settlement by enhancing prospective returnees' understanding of agriculture and rural areas.

County Governor Lee Sang-ik said, “New farmers (returnees) may have vague anxiety due to unfamiliarity with the new environment and inexperience in early farming,” and added, “I hope that basic farming education will help increase understanding of rural areas and help establish a stable income base in the future.”
