Jeju Reports 2 New COVID-19 Cases in One Day, Total Reaches 602
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters (Jeju) Reporter Park Chang-won] Two new COVID-19 cases have been confirmed in Jeju.
According to Jeju Special Self-Governing Province on the 11th, as of the previous day, two people tested positive and were classified as Jeju cases 601 and 602.
A total of 825 COVID-19 diagnostic tests were conducted the previous day.
Since the beginning of this month, Jeju has reported 32 new confirmed cases up to the current date.
Jeju case 601 was identified as an acquaintance of Jeju case 590, who tested positive on the 6th.
After contact with case 590, symptoms appeared during self-quarantine starting from the 9th.
There were no additional movement routes identified for Jeju case 601, who was under self-quarantine.
Jeju case 602 was revealed to be a family member of a confirmed case in Jungnang-gu, Seoul.
He entered Jeju on the 6th with one family member for tourism purposes.
On the 9th, he was notified that the family member in Seoul tested positive, and he was finally confirmed positive after testing the following day.
The family member who entered Jeju together tested negative.
Health authorities have begun tracing the movement routes and additional contacts of Jeju case 602.
