KEPCO to Elect New President... Kim Jong-gap's Reappointment Fails
[Sejong=Asia Economy Reporter Joo Sang-don] Korea Electric Power Corporation (KEPCO) will soon begin the full-scale process of recruiting a new president. The reappointment of KEPCO President Kim Jong-gap, whose term expires in April, has been unsuccessful.
On the 11th, a Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy official stated, "We reviewed President Kim's reappointment but concluded not to renew his term. KEPCO will proceed with a public recruitment process to appoint a new president."
Earlier, in mid-last month, KEPCO formed an Executive Recommendation Committee (ERC) to select a new president. However, since the decision on President Kim's reappointment was not finalized, the recruitment process had not been initiated.
With President Kim's reappointment unsuccessful, KEPCO's ERC plans to announce a recruitment notice for the next president.
According to KEPCO's ERC operation regulations, the committee must select 3 to 5 candidates for president and recommend them to the Public Institution Management Committee.
