At this meeting, both sides agreed to hold a vision presentation event before the debate.
According to Oh’s campaign on the 11th, the two candidates met in Mapo, Seoul, at 8:30 p.m. the previous day and had a casual conversation for about an hour. This was their second direct meeting since the “beer meeting” on the evening of the 8th.
At this meeting, both sides reportedly agreed to hold a vision presentation event and to form a policy consultative body between the two parties. Oh appeared on KBS Radio’s “Choi Kyung-young’s Strong Current Affairs” that morning and said, “I also met separately with candidate Ahn last night,” adding, “We decided to hold a vision presentation event together before the unification.”
The vision presentation event is planned to proceed in a format where the two candidates present their visions for the future of Seoul. Oh said, “It will be held at the same place,” and explained, “It will be a presentation (PT) format using a screen.”
Oh continued, “It might have a better effect than debating,” emphasizing, “We can inform voters about what kind of future Seoul the two candidates envision, and therefore the justification for unification can be further strengthened.”
The two candidates also exchanged opinions on joint governance of Seoul City and coalition government. Oh said, “Candidate Ahn talked about coalition government in Seoul City. I also talked about joint governance of Seoul City. We approached the opinions on how to manage joint governance in a broad framework.”
They also agreed on forming a policy consultative body between the two parties for the joint operation of Seoul City. A representative from Oh’s campaign said, “It is to share each side’s pledges later for mutual understanding.”
