People Power Party Forms Oh Se-hoon’s Campaign Committee: "Non-Park Faction Takes Center Stage"
[Asia Economy Reporter Naju-seok] The Seoul branch of the People Power Party has formed an election countermeasure committee for the April 7 Seoul mayoral by-election. The notable aspect is the large-scale appointment of non-Park faction figures.
On the 10th, the Seoul branch of the People Power Party announced joint election committee chairpersons including former lawmaker Yoo Seung-min, lawmakers Kwon Young-se, Park Jin, former lawmakers Na Kyung-won, Oh Shin-hwan, Kim Sung-tae, Jeong Byeong-guk, and Park Sung-joong, the chairman of the Seoul branch. Honorary election committee chairpersons include former National Assembly Speaker Chung Eui-hwa and former lawmakers Kim Moo-sung and Lee Jae-oh.
Former lawmaker Kim Seon-dong and lawmaker Yoo Kyung-joon were appointed as general election headquarters chiefs.
Many of them expressed support for the impeachment of former President Park Geun-hye in the past, and some of them have experience switching party affiliation to the Bareunmirae Party.

Park Sung-joong, chairman of the Seoul branch, stated, "The April 7 Seoul mayoral by-election is held due to the power-type sexual harassment crime of the former mayor affiliated with the Democratic Party of Korea, and it is an election to normalize the lives of citizens that are being destroyed by skyrocketing housing prices and land speculation by LH employees," adding, "We want to definitely win and welcome a warm ‘Season of the People’ with the citizens of Seoul on April 7."
