Advanced Apple Course and Advanced Strawberry Course Established, 40 Students Selected per Class
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Choi Soon-kyung] The Green Agriculture University in Geochang, Gyeongnam, is a representative local agricultural education university that has produced a total of 600 graduates over 12 years since 2009, including 301 in the Apple Department, 171 in the Strawberry Department, 39 in the Grape Department, and 89 in the Medicinal Herb Department, to strengthen agricultural competitiveness and contribute to the development of regional agriculture by fostering specialized agricultural and rural personnel.
The county announced on the 10th that it will open two departments this year: the Advanced Apple Class and the Advanced Strawberry Class, and recruit new students.
The Green Agriculture University will select 40 students per class and conduct about 20 sessions annually, consisting of theoretical education and field training.
Applicants must be farmers or prospective farmers registered as residents in the county, and those interested in enrollment can fill out an application form and submit it to the town or township office or the Agricultural Technology Center.

Kim Gyu-tae, Director of the Agriculture and Livestock Division, said, “Although it is difficult to conduct face-to-face education due to the novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19), considering the educational outcomes, the sessions will be held in person,” and urged many farmers to participate in the courses.
