Ministry of the Interior and Safety-Naver-Kakao-Viva Republica 'National Secretary Business Agreement'... Vaccine Appointment Notification Service Also Implemented
National Secretary Service to Launch at the End of March
[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Cheol-young] From now on, citizens will be able to receive life-oriented administrative information such as health checkups, driver's license renewals, and traffic fine payment notifications through apps like Naver App, KakaoTalk, and Toss. Additionally, once COVID-19 vaccine reservations begin, guidance on reservation details will also be available through the National Secretary service.
The Ministry of the Interior and Safety announced on the 10th that it signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Naver, Kakao, and Viva Republica at the government Seoul office annex international conference room to develop and promote the use of the National Secretary service.
The 'National Secretary service,' which provides customized life-oriented administrative information to citizens, is a key task of the 'Korean-style Digital New Deal' and digital government innovation. By pre-setting the preferred app, users can receive notifications, apply for services, and conveniently pay public charges all at once.
The Ministry of the Interior and Safety promised to activate the use of the National Secretary service together with three companies with high public usage through this MOU and agreed to actively cooperate to improve the convenience of public services.
In particular, as nationwide vaccination begins in the second half of this year, the ministry will collaborate with the Korea Disease Control and Prevention Agency to provide COVID-19 vaccine reservation guidance through the National Secretary. When citizens make reservations and request notifications via the KDCA's COVID-19 vaccination system, the National Secretary will notify them of the first and second dose dates, locations, and other reservation details through their chosen app or text message.
The Ministry plans to conduct pilot operations with the three companies to review and improve the service and aims to launch the National Secretary service by the end of March.
