According to overseas media on the 7th (local time), gold was recently found at Luhihi Mountain, located in the Viraba village in southern Congo, and videos of miners visiting the village have spread mainly on social media. The videos show numerous people gathering and shoveling soil into sacks. Some are digging soil with shovels, while others are scraping soil with their bare hands. After washing the soil with water to remove impurities, yellow gold nuggets appeared.

Muhigirwa, Minister of the Kivu Mining Department, stated, "Mining activities near Luhihi Mountain will be temporarily suspended," adding, "We will review resuming mining after checking whether miners wishing to mine possess nationally certified qualifications."
