KCC Operates Report Board for 'COVID-19 Vaccine Fake News'
New Government Integrated Bulletin Board Established on the 3rd
Follow-up Measures for Comprehensive Vaccine Fake News Countermeasures
[Asia Economy Reporter Cha Min-young] The Korea Communications Commission announced on the 2nd that it will establish and operate an integrated government COVID-19 vaccine misinformation reporting board starting from the 3rd to respond swiftly to false and manipulated information related to COVID-19 vaccines.
This is a follow-up measure to the "Comprehensive Countermeasures Against Fake News Related to COVID-19 Vaccines" jointly announced by relevant ministries on the 9th of last month.
Through the vaccine misinformation reporting board, any citizen can report suspected false or manipulated information. The relevant authorities, including the Korea Disease Control and Prevention Agency, will verify the facts of the reported cases and, if necessary, take follow-up actions such as requesting deletion or initiating investigations.
Reports of vaccine misinformation can be accessed via banners posted on the websites of the Korea Communications Commission and various government ministries.
