Gwangju Buk-gu, Malbau Market Third Parking Lot with 268 Spaces Fully Operational
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Yukbong] Buk-gu, Gwangju Metropolitan City (District Mayor Moon In) announced on the 2nd that it will hold the opening ceremony of Malbau Market's 3rd parking lot at 2 p.m. on the 3rd and begin full-scale operation.
Malbau Market is a representative traditional market in the region visited by an average of 27,000 people daily, but citizens have experienced inconvenience due to limited parking space.
The 3rd parking lot, constructed with a total project cost of 18 billion KRW from 2018 until last month, is equipped with 268 parking spaces, 6 electric vehicle charging stations, public restrooms, and a performance stage on a site of 10,541㎡.
Additionally, the parking spaces were designed as expandable, receiving preliminary certification for 'Barrier-Free (BF)' living environment, enhancing convenience for the disabled and elderly.
Buk-gu expects to alleviate traffic congestion and parking difficulties around the market by securing a total of 392 parking spaces, including 76 spaces in the 1st parking lot and 48 spaces in the 2nd parking lot.
