Trump Keeps Quiet About Receiving COVID Vaccine Before Leaving Office
US Media Outlets Simultaneously Report Citing Officials
No Public Vaccination or Disclosure of Vaccination Status
[Asia Economy New York=Correspondent Baek Jong-min] Former U.S. President Donald Trump and his wife reportedly received the COVID-19 vaccine before leaving office, according to U.S. media reports.
U.S. media outlets such as Axios and The Hill cited sources on the 1st (local time), reporting that former President Trump and his wife Melania received the COVID-19 vaccine last January.
According to The Hill, former President Trump received his first dose at the White House and completed the second dose after leaving office. It is unknown whether he received the Pfizer or Moderna vaccine.
Former President Trump did not disclose the fact that he was vaccinated before leaving office. This contrasts with former Vice President Mike Pence, who publicly received the vaccine to encourage vaccination.
President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris also publicly received the vaccine before taking office, but former President Trump never publicly received the vaccine or announced his vaccination status.
In a speech at the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) held the day before, he claimed credit for the development of the vaccine and encouraged vaccination.
