"Protecting 380,000 Qualification Exam Candidates"…Strengthening Exam Site Disinfection Measures
Written Exams for 127 Categories Including Architecture Technician Nationwide from 2nd to 14th
Exam Dates Staggered, Morning Exam End Times Adjusted, etc.
[Sejong=Asia Economy Reporter Moon Chaeseok] The government has implemented quarantine measures for approximately 385,000 candidates taking the national technical qualification exams.
The Ministry of Employment and Labor announced on the 2nd that it has taken quarantine measures for examinees taking written exams in 127 categories including Engineer, Industrial Engineer, and Service from the 2nd to the 14th. A total of 385,000 candidates will take the exams at 1,277 testing sites nationwide.
First, the number of examinees was dispersed. The Industrial Engineer exam period was extended from 1 day to 11 days (from the 2nd to the 14th). The Engineer and Service exams, which were previously held once, were divided into two sessions (morning and afternoon on the 7th).
Transparent partitions were installed and exam end times were adjusted to minimize contact among examinees. For the Engineer and Service exams, the morning exam end time was moved up from 12:30 PM to 12:00 PM to separate it from the afternoon exam starting at 1:00 PM.
All exam registrants were able to check in advance through the Central Disease Control Headquarters whether they were confirmed COVID-19 cases or subject to quarantine. Those at risk of infection, such as confirmed patients and self-quarantine subjects, were guided to take the exam at separate testing sites through prior application.
On the exam day, examinees with fever symptoms were directed to separate exam rooms, and the distance between examinees in the exam rooms was maintained at over 1.5 meters, reducing the average number of examinees per room to fewer than 20, among other strengthened measures.
After the exam, examinees and supervisors were guided to self-monitor their health status, including COVID-19 symptoms, for two weeks.
