On the 28th, Oh held a 'Mobility Pledge Announcement and Discussion Briefing' via the social networking service (SNS) Clubhouse, which included these details.
First, Oh stated his intention to install 200,000 fast and slow electric vehicle chargers in Seoul by 2025. He explained, "The government plans to install 500,000 slow and fast chargers nationwide by 2025, but we will expedite this by institutionally supporting Seoul to install 200,000 slow and fast chargers by 2025."
For existing apartments where electric vehicle charger installation is not mandatory, he plans to make charger installation compulsory and provide financial support for installation costs. Oh emphasized, "While charger installation is mandatory for new apartments, incentives are needed for already built apartments. We will consider making it mandatory and providing financial support not only for apartments but also for row houses, multi-family houses, and detached houses."
Additionally, when the private sector undertakes redevelopment or reconstruction, floor area ratio will be further relaxed according to the number of chargers installed, and discussions will be held with oil companies to install fast chargers in vacant spaces at gas stations.
Dedicated electric scooter lanes will be created along the Han River and 25 tributaries. Pedestrian sidewalks, bicycle lanes, and electric scooter lanes will be clearly distinguished and reorganized. Oh previously implemented a project to separate bicycle lanes and walking paths along the Han River during his tenure as Seoul mayor.
