On the 27th, Hong posted on his Facebook, warning, "If you want to be a leader, conduct yourself seriously."
He stated, "I was trying to hold back thinking the time is not right yet," and added, "But he was so arrogant that I had to say something."
Hong criticized, "He has drawn attention with thug-like behavior, pretended to be a prophet of basic income after reading a book that doesn’t seem like a proper book to me, and frequently mocks others' party names. Is distributing small amounts of money to residents with taxes that are not even his own money good governance?"
Earlier, Governor Lee mentioned on Facebook that the People Power Party opposed the Medical Service Act amendment, criticizing, "The People Power Party only opposes the people from the side of vested interests," and asked, "Who is the 'Power' in the People Power Party's name for?"
On the 28th, Hong again posted on Facebook, continuing his criticism of Governor Lee.
Hong said, "The insults to his sister-in-law during the last local election and his relationship with an actress were also thug-like behavior."
He continued, "The argument that basic income is necessary because unemployment will be widespread in the AI era is no different from the 'Luddite Movement' (machine-breaking movement) during the British Industrial Revolution in the 18th century, which feared unemployment," opposing Governor Lee’s proposed basic income system.
