Park Jihoon, a lawyer from the law firm Hyun representing the alleged victims, said in a press release on the 26th, "These pieces of evidence will, in principle, only be submitted to the player himself or his affiliated club to protect Ki Sung-yueng's minimum dignity. However, if the immoral behavior of Ki Sung-yueng's side continues, we may have no choice but to disclose them."
Earlier, on the 24th, Lawyer Park released a statement revealing that Mr. C and Mr. D, former soccer players, were sexually assaulted by senior players A and B from January to June 2000 while playing on the soccer team at an elementary school in Jeonnam.
According to Lawyer Park, perpetrator A is a star player who recently joined a prestigious club in the metropolitan area and is a former national team member, while the other perpetrator B had a brief professional career and is currently a visiting professor at a university in the Gwangju area.
Subsequently, Ki Sung-yueng was identified as perpetrator A, and his agency immediately denied the allegations and announced a strong response. Ki Sung-yueng himself also denied the sexual assault allegations in a post on his Instagram on the 25th, stating, "The reported article is unrelated to me. Such an incident never happened."
Meanwhile, Lawyer Park acknowledged that Mr. C and Mr. D, who claimed to be victims of sexual assault, were also alleged to have been perpetrators of school violence during their middle school years.
