[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Saeyan] On the 25th, Haman-gun, Gyeongnam Province, held an interim report meeting on the establishment of a bicycle usage activation plan to make bicycle use more convenient and active.
The county has been promoting a basic plan establishment project for bicycle usage activation from March last year to May this year to promote bicycle use.
At the report meeting, annual activation plans, facility maintenance directions, and safety assurance measures were presented.
In particular, the plan was divided into residential area type and tourism/leisure type for the Nakdong River and Gwangryeocheon sections, focusing on ways to connect existing routes and newly established routes.
Additionally, methods to link and use public transportation and bicycles were proposed, such as the introduction of a metropolitan discount transportation card system through connection with public transportation facilities and a mileage system.
The county established a five-year basic plan for bicycle usage activation through the project.
In the short term, the facility standards and renovations of existing bicycle roads will be carried out, and in the long term, disconnected sections of bicycle roads will be connected.
