Ministop Launches Exclusive 'Cheotjeup Lager'... First to Use First-Extracted Malt Juice
[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Chunhan] Ministop announced on the 25th that it will exclusively launch the craft beer manufacturer Y Brewery's 'Cheotjeup Lager' at convenience stores.
This product is a lager brewed using only the first wort extracted from malt. While typical beers use wort extracted 2 to 3 times, Cheotjeup Lager uses only the first wort, resulting in limited production and a distinctive taste.
Cheotjeup Lager was recognized for its taste by winning the grand prize in the craft lager category at the 2020 Korea Liquor Awards. Compared to regular lagers, it features less off-flavors and unpleasant bitterness, leaving a clean finish after drinking. Unlike many craft beers with strong aromas and unique flavors, it offers a smooth and rich body combined with the refreshing qualities characteristic of lagers, making it a flavor anyone can enjoy without burden.
