Gwangju Gwangsan-gu Builds 'Public Data Dam', Leading Digital New Deal
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Gwan-woo] Gwangsan-gu, Gwangju Metropolitan City announced on the 24th that it has completed the construction of the Gwangsan-type Public Data Dam, conducted as part of the ‘Gwangsan-type Happiness New Deal Project,’ and has started to activate data-driven administration leading the government’s Digital New Deal.
The main content of the Gwangsan-type Public Data Dam construction is the automation of public data collection and refinement.
With the completion of this project, the data refinement period, which previously took three months, has been shortened to one month, and a foundation has been established for district employees to access and utilize about 300 types of data, according to Gwangsan-gu.
It is now possible to automatically link with the data analysis system used so far, enabling an integrated system that processes everything from data collection to analysis.
During this process, Gwangsan-gu connected with the Ministry of the Interior and Safety’s ‘Public Data Youth Intern Project’ to create youth jobs in the field of data quality improvement. Going forward, through the construction of the Public Data Dam, they plan to enhance the scope and depth of scientific administration by utilizing high-quality data, providing various data analyses, and visualization services.
