Lezhin Appoints Kim Young-hoon as New CEO, "Will Become a Global Webtoon Platform"
[Asia Economy Reporter Buaeri] Lezhin Entertainment announced on the 24th that it has appointed Kim Young-hoon as the new CEO.
Lezhin Entertainment, which operates the global webtoon platform Lezhin Comics, appointed Kim, the CEO of its subsidiary Kidari Studio, as the new CEO through a board resolution the previous day.
CEO Kim plans to oversee Lezhin Comics' global business, which is establishing a growth foundation overseas, and strengthen the global market presence of both Kidari and Lezhin.
CEO Kim was a founding member of Daou Technology and served as its CEO from 2008 to 2016. Since 2017, he has been the chairman of the board at Kidari Studio. In 2018, Kidari Studio launched the webtoon platform "Bomtoon," targeting female readers, and in 2019, it acquired 'Delitoon,' a leading French webtoon platform.

CEO Kim stated, "The joint goal of Kidari and Lezhin is to strengthen the global webtoon platform," adding, "Based on the two companies' strengths in webtoon production, distribution (CP), and platform operation, we will become a truly global webtoon platform company."
