The county announced on the 23rd that it has organized a safety inspection team consisting of public officials from relevant departments and private experts to conduct safety inspections of large construction projects during the spring thawing season.
The safety inspection team will visit Donguibogam Village and various national and local road construction sites to carry out disaster safety accident prevention inspections.
They also plan to conduct a comprehensive survey targeting 152 steep slopes in the region to carry out joint safety inspections and identify sites requiring management.
The county will conduct a full inspection of steep slopes, such as natural or artificial (retaining walls and embankments) slopes, which are particularly vulnerable to safety accidents during the thawing season.
Alongside this, a comprehensive survey will be conducted to identify steep slopes that require management and to check their current status.
The main inspection items include checking for cracks, ground subsidence, scouring, and falling rocks that may occur as ice melts. They will also inspect the condition of drainage facilities, rockfall prevention nets, and repair or reinforcement of rockfall prevention measures.
The inspection will be carried out using a safety checklist, and if the risk factors are deemed significant, private experts will be utilized to conduct disaster risk assessments and detailed safety diagnoses.
If any issues identified during the inspection can be corrected on-site, immediate action will be taken, and for matters requiring maintenance, projects will be promoted before the full rainy season begins.
