Gyeonggi Fire Headquarters Conducts Aerial Rescue Training for High-Rise Buildings
[Asia Economy (Suwon) = Reporter Lee Young-gyu] The Gyeonggi-do Fire and Disaster Headquarters will conduct 'aerial rescue training' for high-rise buildings until next month.
The Gyeonggi Fire Headquarters announced on the 23rd that aerial rescue training will be conducted until the 5th of next month at the training tower of the Gyeonggi Fire School and high-rise buildings under the jurisdiction of each fire station.
This training is divided into ▲ indoor entry through the rooftop of high-rise buildings by rescue personnel ▲ lifting and transporting using aerial stretchers, etc. ▲ deploying outdoor hoses for fire suppression.
Jang Jae-gu, head of the Special Response Team at the Gyeonggi Fire Headquarters, said, "Recently, fires have occurred in large high-rise buildings, such as the fire in a 33-story residential-commercial complex apartment in Ulsan last October," and added, "Through training that simulates real situations, we will strive to minimize damage by enabling rapid rescue and fire suppression in the event of a fire in large high-rise buildings."
