Gwangju Reports 7 New COVID-19 Cases on 22nd, Total Reaches 1,997

According to Gwangju City on the 23rd, the number of new confirmed cases as of the previous day is 7 (3 previously announced), and they have been classified as Gwangju cases 1991 to 1997.
Among them, 3 cases (Gwangju 1991, 1993, and 1996) are related to Jeonbuk case 1112, who is known to be an employee at Jeonbuk Hyundai Motors Jeonju Plant.
Health authorities have identified that a chain infection occurred after a gathering in Yeosu during the recent Lunar New Year holiday period.
Two other cases (Gwangju 1992 and 1994) are unidentified confirmed cases with unknown infection routes.
One case related to the unauthorized educational facility Gwangju TCS International School, affiliated with the IM Mission, was also confirmed. Registered as Gwangju 1997, this individual tested positive in a pre-release quarantine test.
One resident of Buk-gu (Gwangju 1995) tested positive in a pre-release quarantine test after returning from France.
The cumulative number of confirmed cases in the region has reached 1,997, and 3,957 COVID-19 tests are still ongoing.
