[Asia Economy Reporter Junhyung Lee] Bokuk Enertech announced on the 22nd that it has signed a tripartite Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Korea Environment Corporation and Korea Electric Power Technology, a subsidiary of Korea Electric Power Corporation. This agreement was made to activate the 'low-temperature pyrolysis gasification furnace' technology and increase its domestic distribution.
The low-temperature pyrolysis gasification furnace is an eco-friendly facility that produces about 30% less atmospheric pollutants such as nitrogen oxides (NOx) compared to conventional waste incinerators. It is regarded as a technology that can solve environmental problems caused by waste incineration. Bokuk Enertech succeeded in scaling up the low-temperature pyrolysis gasification furnace for the first time in Korea and holds related patents.

Following 2016, Bokuk Enertech installed a large furnace with a daily waste processing capacity of 100 tons in 2019. Last year, the Korea Environment Corporation measured the amount of atmospheric pollutants emitted from the waste incineration plant in Yangju, Gyeonggi Province, where the facility was installed, proving its eco-friendliness.
