Seongdong-gu Ttukseom Yusuji Complex Culture and Sports Center Selected as 'Seoul Forest Complex Culture and Sports Center'
117 Names from the 1st Round for Employees and Residents, Total 241 Participants Including 2nd Online Survey, Most Votes... Seongsu-dong Ttukseom Yusuji Utilized, Sports Facility with Bowling Alley, Swimming Pool, Futsal Field, and Cultural & Welfare Facilities Scheduled for Completion in February 2022
[Asia Economy Reporter Jong-il Park] Seongdong-gu (Mayor Jeong Won-oh) announced that the facility name for the complex cultural and sports center, which is being constructed as a multi-purpose facility including sports facilities, a daycare center, and a community culture center within Ttukseom Reservoir area at 685-63, Seongsu-dong 1-ga, Seongdong-gu, has been finally selected as ‘Seoul Forest Complex Cultural and Sports Center.’
Two rounds of naming contests were held targeting Seongdong-gu office employees and residents. The first contest was conducted over five days from the 15th to the 19th of last month, resulting in a total of 117 name submissions.
After internal screening, five names were shortlisted, and in the second online survey, a total of 241 participants voted, with ‘Seoul Forest Complex Cultural and Sports Center’ receiving the highest number of votes at 101.
The district office had previously referred to the facility as ‘Ttukseom Reservoir Complex Cultural and Sports Center’ for convenience, as it is located within the Ttukseom Reservoir area. However, through this contest, the name was finalized as ‘Seoul Forest Complex Cultural and Sports Center,’ and the project will be accelerated aiming for completion in February next year.
‘Seoul Forest Complex Cultural and Sports Center’ is a large-scale complex cultural and sports center located within Ttukseom Reservoir, with a site area of 11,200㎡, four floors above ground, a project budget of 29.7 billion KRW, and a total floor area of 5,589㎡. It will include a multipurpose gymnasium, a swimming pool (5 lanes), a fitness center, and an outdoor rooftop futsal field. For the first time among Seongdong-gu public sports facilities, an 8-lane bowling alley will be installed, allowing residents to enjoy various types of recreational sports.
Additionally, cultural and welfare service facilities such as a daycare center, an elementary after-school care center, and a community culture center will be included, making it a large-scale complex facility accessible to people of all ages and genders.
