Community Experts Provide Complex Diagnosis and Customized Contest Recommendations to Meet Residents' Needs
[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] Seongdong-gu (Mayor Jung Won-oh) is accepting applications for the '2021 Apartment Community Revitalization Contest' until March 5th and will operate 'visiting briefing sessions' for each complex to provide detailed explanations of the contest.
To ensure smooth progress of the contest, last year a large-scale briefing session was held at the Seongdong-gu Office auditorium, but due to prolonged social distancing measures caused by COVID-19, the format was changed to small-scale visits of five or fewer people to complexes within the district.
Through the visiting briefing sessions, each apartment complex will conduct small-scale sessions with project proposals and necessary basic education, allowing for more detailed explanations.
To facilitate smooth operation of the contest, an operation manual covering overall management details was produced and distributed to apartment complexes required to revitalize their communities.
Additionally, the project details were posted on the district office website to ensure no inconvenience for complexes wishing to apply for the contest, with preparations completed in advance.
For smooth two-way communication, a community revitalization platform will be completed by the end of this month to conduct briefing sessions online as well. Last month, a video explaining the apartment support project, which assists with aging facilities, was produced and posted on the Seongdong-gu Office website and YouTube, receiving great response through the online briefing sessions. This online communication space will serve as an opportunity to further strengthen communication with the community.
In this briefing session, community experts will visit complexes to provide diagnosis, recommend tailored contest projects, and support tasks related to project proposal writing, offering consulting that meets residents' needs. Applications can be submitted by phone until the 26th of this month, and contest applications must be completed by March 5th.

Jung Won-oh, Mayor of Seongdong-gu, said, “Last year was a particularly difficult year due to COVID-19, and I commend the efforts of our members. Moving forward, I hope the direction and methods of Seongdong-gu’s apartment community revitalization projects will serve as a center for communication and harmony encompassing the entire community, in line with the new era.”
