Podbbang, Korea's First Monthly Audio Magazine Part 2 Launch
[Asia Economy Reporter Hyunseok Yoo] Podbbang, the largest podcast platform in Korea, announced on the 19th that it has launched the second edition of 'Quiet Life' by Cine21 reporter Kim Hyeri, following the country's first audio magazine 'Monthly Kim Eo-jun,' which it introduced after long dedication.
The audio magazine, ambitiously introduced by Podbbang, differs from traditional podcasts by allowing audiences to enjoy not only audio but also visual media such as photos and illustrations. Launched at the end of January under the concept of intellectual expansion, 'Monthly Kim Eo-jun' has received explosive interest and love from listeners since its first issue, and industry experts have praised it for opening a new horizon as an audio magazine distinct from existing podcasts.
Cine21 reporter Kim Hyeri, known as the owner of a byline long admired in texts dealing with culture and arts, leads 'Quiet Life.'
The inaugural issue features an interview with the famous novelist Han Kang. Through this interview, Han Kang cautiously reveals stories such as several missed opportunities for her work 'The Boy is Coming' to be adapted into a film.
Additionally, 'Quiet Life' covers fields such as movies, TV, books, fashion, food culture, architecture, and economic activities. The segments are conducted either solely by reporter Kim Hyeri or in conversation format with expert panels. In the monthly interview segment, listeners can hear sincere, in-depth one-on-one conversations between Kim Hyeri and specific individuals. Writer Lee Seul-ah participates regularly in the segment created together with listeners.
The supplementary item, planned to help listeners' economic power, has 'How to Write Freelance Contracts Well' as its first topic. Cartoonist Kang Full and labor attorney Kim Mina appear. The photos for 'Quiet Life' are by photographer Jeong Melmel, original illustrations by Park Hyungjin and Leila Kang, and signal music by music director Lim Ju-yeon, famous for the OST of 'To Yoonhee.'
The monthly 'Quiet Life' releases all episodes at once once a month, similar to a paper magazine. The inaugural issue contains a total of 12 episodes with a total running time of 15 hours, and the subscription fee for the first month is free.
