442 New COVID-19 Cases Nationwide by 6 PM... 34 Fewer Than Previous Day
[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Jung-yoon] As COVID-19 cases surge again, new infections continued to emerge nationwide on the 18th.
According to health authorities, Seoul city, and other local governments, a total of 442 new confirmed COVID-19 cases were reported from midnight to 6 p.m. on that day. This is 34 fewer than the 476 cases recorded during the same time frame the previous day.
By region, 351 cases (79%) were reported in the Seoul metropolitan area, and 91 cases (21%) were reported in non-metropolitan areas.
Since there is still time until midnight when the tally closes, the number of new confirmed cases announced at midnight on the 19th is expected to increase to around 600. On the previous day, 145 additional cases were reported from 6 p.m. to midnight, bringing the final total to 621.

The number of new COVID-19 cases dropped to the 300s during the Lunar New Year holiday but has returned to an upward trend, recording over 600 cases for two consecutive days starting from the previous day.
