Changwon City Reopens 'Worker Shelter' for Underprivileged Mobile Workers' Rest Areas
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Saeyan] Changwon City in Gyeongnam announced on the 18th that it will reopen the mobile workers' rest shelter starting from the 19th.
The shelter had been closed due to the closure of public facilities caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, but it is now reopening as social distancing measures have been lowered to level 1.5.
The city plans to operate the shelter while strictly adhering to COVID-19 prevention guidelines such as temperature checks, mandatory mask-wearing for users, frequent disinfection and ventilation, and maintaining visitor logs.
The mobile workers' rest shelter was established to address the lack of resting spaces for mobile workers such as designated drivers, delivery workers, quick service couriers, and private tutors.
It is a resting space created to improve the poor working conditions where workers had no choice but to rest in convenience stores or ATM booths during waiting times.

The mobile workers' rest shelter is located on the 2nd floor of the Golden Tower Building in Seongsan-gu and operates from Monday to Friday, from 3 PM to 6 AM.
