[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Choi Soon-kyung] Sancheong-gun, Gyeongnam announced on the 18th that it is accepting applications for the '2022 Forest Income Increase Project' to establish a stable forestry business and increase the income of forestry workers.
The applicants are forestry workers, forestry successors, producer groups, etc. who cultivate supported items of forest product income sources.
Forestry households wishing to apply can submit their applications to the town or township office where the project site is located by March 3rd.
After receiving the applications, the county will select the final project sites based on the review results and implement the project in 2022.
The target projects include ▲Forest crop production complexes (medicinal herbs, wild vegetables, nuts, forest mushrooms, etc.) ▲Establishment of forest product production infrastructure (production equipment, forest mushroom disaster prevention facilities, work roads, etc.) ▲Support for forest product commercialization (standard packaging materials) ▲Establishment of forest product distribution infrastructure (storage and drying facilities, distribution equipment, processing, sorting, packaging equipment, etc.) ▲Eco-friendly forest product cultivation management (only for registered agricultural management entities, soil conditioners, organic fertilizers), etc.
The support ratio is 50% subsidy and 50% self-payment, with a support limit for projects under a total project cost of 100 million KRW.
The main revision for the 2022 project application is the additional support for forest product sorting machines and packaging equipment.
Only those who contain more than 50% forest products and have registered their business according to the Food Sanitation Act and related laws can also receive support for processing equipment for secondary processed food production.
Sancheong-gun is one of the major domestic production areas of dried persimmons, a representative forest income crop. About 1,300 farms produce about 2,700 tons of dried persimmons, generating income worth 35 billion KRW.
