Martial Arts, '2021 Seoul International Sports Leisure Industry Expo' Held Online and Offline
[Asia Economy Reporter Jeong Hyunjin] The Korea International Trade Association and the Korea Sports Promotion Foundation jointly announced that the '2021 Seoul International Sports Leisure Industry Exhibition (SPOEX 2021)' held at COEX in Samseong-dong opened on the 18th. This year, the exhibition was organized as a hybrid event combining online and offline under the theme 'SPOEX Login.'
At this exhibition, activities such as live streaming of on-site booths and the 'SPOEX Naver Shopping Live & Special Exhibition' incorporating live commerce were conducted. Famous sports-related influencers, including Jigi TV with 540,000 YouTube subscribers and athlete Yang with 300,000 subscribers, were invited to live stream the exhibition site, providing opportunities for indirect experience of the exhibition. At the 'SPOEX Live Concert,' representatives of sports, health, and wellness product export companies and overseas marketing executives shared success stories and know-how.
Yeosanghyun, director of Woldin, which exports health and home appliance products, introduced export know-how, saying, "Due to COVID-19, overseas business trips and buyer visits were blocked, causing a decline in company sales. However, by establishing a video consultation system, organizing marketing manuals suitable for video consultations, thoroughly analyzing and evaluating clients, and providing prompt after-sales service, we were able to secure new export channels."
The video export consultation meeting saw the participation of 71 overseas buyers from 16 countries, the largest scale in the history of SPOEX events, conducting 238 export consultations with 132 domestic companies during the exhibition period. Major buyers included Suning.com, China's largest integrated online and offline distribution company; Shopee, a leading e-commerce company in Southeast Asia; and Response TV from Singapore, a home shopping and e-commerce company with distribution channels in over 50 countries worldwide.

Kim Hyuncheol, head of global marketing at the Trade Association, said, "For companies participating in SPOEX 2021 this year, we plan to continuously facilitate consultations with overseas buyers by operating an online exhibition hall year-round on TradeKorea, a B2B online trading platform."
