Dongdaemun-gu Supports Repair Costs for Old Houses...Up to 15.5 Million KRW for Detached Houses
Expansion of support scope including gate replacement, kitchen relocation, and bathroom extension construction
[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] Dongdaemun-gu (Mayor Yoo Deok-yeol) has partnered with Seoul City to launch the Seoul Ggum House Repair Support Project to improve the performance of aging houses.
The Seoul Ggum House Repair Support Project provides financial assistance for house repair costs to improve the residential environment and urban aesthetics of aging low-rise residential areas located within designated housing performance improvement support zones.
Dongdaemun-gu offers subsidies of up to 15.5 million KRW for detached houses and up to 20.5 million KRW for common areas of multi-family housing, along with loans to cover construction costs.
Eligible houses are detached, multi-family, multiplex, and row houses within the housing performance improvement support zones that have been approved for use for more than 20 years; illegal buildings are excluded from support.
This year, the district has expanded the scope of support to include door replacement, kitchen relocation, bathroom expansion, and full room repairs for finishing and wallpaper work caused by leaks, aiming to create a comfortable living environment.
The housing performance improvement support zones include seven areas: ▲ Cheongnyangni General Market and Jang-anpyeong area ▲ Hongneung Research Complex ▲ Huigyeong-dong 286 area ▲ Gamcho Village and Korea University Front Village ▲ Jegi-dong 67-17 area.
Detailed zone information can be found on Seoul City’s Jipsuri.com website.
Applications must be submitted in person to the Dongdaemun-gu Sustainable City Division by July 30 (postal or phone applications are not accepted).
Meanwhile, last year the district provided a total subsidy of 120 million KRW and loans totaling 330 million KRW through the Seoul Ggum House project.
