Minister Seo also said, "There are a few regrettable parts, and to prevent such issues from recurring, mid-level commanders and military leadership will also make efforts."
Ki Dong-min, a member of the Democratic Party of Korea, said, "Since humans are involved, not everything can be perfect, but despite the surveillance equipment operating, failing to detect signs is a surveillance failure," adding, "An investigation is needed, but I believe disciplinary action against subordinate units is inevitable."

Rep. Ki said, "It is frustrating that despite such incidents recurring annually, the military and the Ministry of National Defense have not presented proper countermeasures," and added, "I am concerned that this incident may lower the morale of the military personnel who work hard and are dedicated."
