Gwangju Nam-gu 'Dong-by-Dong SNS Video' Self-Production
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Seon-gang] Nam-gu, Gwangju Metropolitan City (District Mayor Kim Byeong-nae) announced on the 17th that it will produce its own ‘Neighborhood SNS Videos’ covering cultural assets, attractions, and festivals located in the 16 neighborhoods within the district using drones and cameras.
The SNS videos will be uploaded once or twice a month through the Nam-gu Office blog and YouTube channel.
The first neighborhood to be introduced through the SNS videos in early next month is Yangnim-dong, known as the number one tourist spot in Gwangju and Jeonnam, where various modern cultural heritages are scattered.
The videos are expected to feature representative tourist sites such as Owen Memorial Hall, the residence of missionary Woo Il-seon, the holly tree, the Lee Jang-woo House, Sophia Hall and Curtis Memorial Hall, as well as Penguin Village and the craft specialty street.
By the end of next month, hidden points in Bangnim 1-dong and Bangnim 2-dong will be showcased.
Scenes of the neighborhood’s landmarks such as Bongbong Bridge, Bangjetgol murals, cherry blossoms near Sungui Middle School, the Ipap tree festival, and the toy library will be provided through videos and photos.

A Nam-gu official said, “We plan to include basic information such as the location and origin of the 16 neighborhoods in the district, as well as neighborhood-specific tourist points and festival schedules in the SNS videos,” adding, “We will continue to provide various attractions to tourists visiting Nam-gu.”
