Innocean Wins 10 Grand Prizes at AdFest 2020
[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Chunhan] Innocean Worldwide announced on the 17th that it won 10 main awards at ‘ADFEST 2020,’ the leading advertising festival in the Asia-Pacific region.
Innocean received 1 Gold, 3 Silver, and 6 Bronze awards for Hanwha Group’s global sustainability campaign ‘Clean Up Mekong,’ Hyundai Motor Group’s global brand campaign ‘The Quiet Taxi,’ and Hyundai Marine & Fire Insurance’s interactive playground for children’s hospitals ‘Healing Jungle,’ among others.
The awarded works were highly praised for presenting innovative advertising marketing solutions by combining cutting-edge technology with creativity in social contribution campaigns of Korea’s representative companies, Hanwha Group and Hyundai Motor Group. All the winning works were produced by the Seoul headquarters, and Innocean recorded the highest number of awards among advertising agencies based in Korea at ADFEST 2020.
The Hanwha Group’s Clean Up Mekong, which won the Gold award in the media category, is a campaign that raised awareness about the serious environmental pollution issues in Vietnam and proposed creative solutions. To solve the floating waste problem along the Mekong River, two eco-friendly solar-powered boats called Solar Boats were created to collect floating trash. The Solar Boats donated to Vinh Long City, Vietnam, in 2019 operate without emitting any pollutants and travel the Mekong River for 6 to 7 hours daily, collecting 200 to 220 tons of waste annually.
Hyundai Motor Group’s The Quiet Taxi is a project that applied the vehicle driving support system (ATC) technology for the hearing impaired, which won the grand prize at the 2017 Hyundai Motor Group R&D Idea Festival, to an actual vehicle. The story was captured on video about Lee Dae-ho, Seoul’s first hearing-impaired taxi driver, who safely operates his taxi thanks to Hyundai Motor Group’s technology that converts all sound information inside and outside the vehicle into visual and tactile signals.
