Emart24 announced on the 17th that it will carry out the 'Nationwide Hearty Breakfast Project' this year, anticipating that remote work and online classes will decrease and commuting and school attendance will gradually return to normal. Emart24 stated, "We are currently testing two types of morning sets this month to gauge customer response," and added, "Based on sales data, we plan to design morning sets every month."
Until the end of this month, between 7 AM and 10 AM, customers can purchase a Cheongsong High Clean Apple and Hot Americano (originally 2,600 KRW) at a 38% discount for 1,600 KRW, and an Egg Banran Sandwich and Hot Americano (originally 3,600 KRW) at a 27% discount for 2,600 KRW.
Sandwiches, apples, and coffee are popular breakfast substitutes, accounting for 30% of daily sales during the three-hour period from 7 AM to 10 AM. In particular, the morning set products introduced this time (Egg Banran Sandwich, Cheongsong Clean Apple, Hot Americano) were among the top three best-selling items in their respective categories during this time slot in January.
Providing customers with their usual breakfast items at discounted prices has led to continued purchases. From the 1st to the 15th of this month, sales of morning set sandwiches, apples, and brewed coffee between 7 AM and 10 AM increased by 102% compared to the same period and time last month. Emart24 explained that despite the discounts, the increase in sales indicates a significant rise in customer purchases. The popularity of the morning sets also boosted overall sales of sandwiches, fruits, and brewed coffee during this time slot.
Although commuting and school attendance have not yet fully normalized, Emart24 confirmed strong customer response to the morning sets and announced plans to expand the morning set offerings starting next month to actively attract morning customers. After selling the current two types of morning sets until the end of February, from March, they will offer two types of sandwiches (choose one) with Hot Americano, and Cheongsong High Clean Apple with Hot Americano at discounts of up to 38%.
