Labor Dispute Between Naver Management and Union Over Performance Bonus Payment Criteria
[Asia Economy Reporter Hyungsoo Park] Naver's labor union and management are in conflict over the criteria for employee performance bonus payments.
According to the IT industry on the 16th, the Naver branch of the Korean Confederation of Trade Unions' Chemical, Textile, and Food Workers' Union sent an email titled "Disclose the Performance Bonus Calculation Criteria Transparently" to all employees on the 6th.
Naver achieved record-high performance last year alongside the spread of non-face-to-face (untact) culture. The performance bonuses paid were said to be below the level corresponding to the record-high performance.
The union reportedly demanded improvements regarding the non-disclosure of the performance bonus payment criteria. Management, which explained the bonus increase rates by grade, plans to hold an additional briefing session at the end of this month.
