The free capture trap lending project is a policy where farmers can apply to rent capture traps for capturing harmful wild animals, and the city rents the traps free of charge.
If you wish to rent a capture trap, you can apply to the responsible district office. After on-site inspection, the district office rents the capture trap for 3 to a maximum of 6 months along with a permit to capture harmful wild animals.
Wild animals caught in the capture traps are dangerous, so they must be reported immediately to the district office upon discovery. The district office dispatches a licensed hunter with a capture permit to proceed with the euthanasia process.
The city started the free capture trap lending project in 2017. Last year, capture traps were lent to 25 farms.
