Jeonnam Governor Kim Young-rok: "4-H Union Members, Please Lead Agricultural Development"
[Muan=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Yoon Jamin] Kim Young-rok, Governor of Jeonnam Province, held a meeting with the Jeonnam 4-H Federation members and urged the 4-H Federation members, who are key talents in Jeonnam agriculture and rural areas, to lead agricultural development and the future rural communities.
According to Jeonnam Province on the 16th, the meeting was held simultaneously in-person and online under the theme of "The Role of Young Farmers for Co-growth in Local Communities."
Participants included Moon Byung-ho, President of the Jeonnam 4-H Federation, provincial executives, and city and county delegates.
The attendees shared opinions on the difficulties young people face in rural areas and discussed ways to work together with youth as partners leading local communities, considering solutions to these challenges.
Before the meeting, the inauguration and retirement ceremony for the 62nd and 63rd Presidents of the Jeonnam 4-H Federation was also held.
Governor Kim presented a plaque of appreciation to the 62nd President Kim Ho-young for his achievements and efforts over two years and extended congratulations and encouragement to the 63rd President Moon Byung-ho.
Governor Kim said, "Although it is regrettable that not all members could attend due to COVID-19, I hope the Jeonnam 4-H Federation, which gathers key talents in Jeonnam agriculture and rural areas, will create a 'Blue Agriculture and Fisheries' industry. Young people must lead the development of Jeonnam agriculture and future rural communities with their creative ideas and passion."
Meanwhile, the Jeonnam 4-H Federation, established in 1957, is one of the learning organizations leading agriculture and rural areas. Divided into Student 4-H, Youth 4-H, and the 4-H Headquarters, it consists of 124 chapters and 6,101 members across the province who practice the philosophy of "Make good things better, learn through practice" in farming fields, actively working as the main players of 21st-century farming.
